What are the internal measurements of the Dog Pod?Updated 3 hours ago
We get asked this a lot — and we totally understand why. But here’s the honest answer:
Because of the soft, malleable nature of the Dog Pod, internal measurements don’t tell the full story and can often be misleading.
Why internal measurements aren’t the best guide
Unlike a hard plastic box or crate, the Dog Pod is designed to be plush, padded, and flexible. That means:
Your dog gently sinks into the Pod when they lie down
The side walls give slightly as your dog moves and shifts position
The full base area becomes usable as your dog settles into the shape of the bed
So while we could give you a number, it might make the space seem smaller than it actually feels in real use — especially for dogs that curl up or like to nest.
The better way to check fit: footprint measurements
Instead of internal dimensions, we recommend using the outer footprint of the Pod — this gives you a much clearer sense of whether it’s suitable for your dog.
Original Pod footprint: 53cm wide x 47cm deep
XL Pod footprint: 100cm wide x 52cm deep
To check fit at home:
Have your dog lie down as they would in the car
Mark out the Pod footprint on the floor with tape or cushions
See how comfortably they fit within that space
If your dog can comfortably curl up or lie down within those dimensions, they’ll be just fine.
Still unsure?
We’re happy to help. Send us your dog’s breed, weight, or a photo of them lying down, and we’ll guide you to the best fit.
