How big is the Original Travel Dog Pod?Updated 5 days ago

The Original Travel Dog Pod is approximately 50cm cubed, and it fits comfortably on a single car seat — whether you’re driving a Mini Cooper or a Lamborghini.

Please refer to the size diagram above for full measurements.

Luther Bennett Dog Pod - Dimensions:

  • Width (across the seat): 53cm

  • Depth (front to back): 47cm

  • Back height: 44cm

  • Side wall height: 27cm

It’s designed to fit almost any car seat and secures easily using either the seatbelt or Isofix (if using the Dog Pod 2.0).

Why internal measurements can be misleading

We often get asked about the internal space — but here’s why we don’t rely too heavily on those figures:

The Dog Pod is soft and malleable, meaning your dog naturally sinks into it. At first glance, internal measurements may look tight — but in reality, your dog will enjoy the entire base footprint once they settle in.

So while it might seem small on paper, in real use it’s spacious and cocoon-like, offering your dog the comfort and security they need on the move.

Will it take up the whole seat?

Yes — the Original Travel Dog Pod is designed to occupy a single car seat. It fits perfectly on the seat base and stays secure without needing to spill into other seating areas.

If you’re unsure whether your dog will fit comfortably, we recommend comparing their curled-up length to the 53 x 47cm footprint — that’s the most reliable guide.

Will my dog fit in the Original Pod?
