Can I use the Dog Pod as a carrier?Updated 3 hours ago

Can I carry my dog inside the Pod?

We get this question from time to time — and it makes sense. The Dog Pod looks sturdy, feels secure, and has built-in handles.

But while some customers have lifted the Pod with their dog inside, we don’t recommend it — and here’s why.

The Dog Pod isn’t designed to be a carrier.

Our Pods are built for travel comfort — not for load-bearing movement. The handles are there to help with positioning the Pod, not transporting your dog while inside it.

Even though the Pod can technically support your dog’s weight, lifting it this way can:

  • Put unnecessary strain on the base and seams

  • Stress the materials in ways they weren’t designed to handle

  • Compromise long-term durability

What we recommend instead:

  • Always lift your dog out of the Pod before moving it

  • Only use the handles when the Pod is empty

  • Think of the Pod as a secure travel seat — not a carrier or crate
